Online Shopping & Marketing Network Company requires a competent Warehouse Manager to start immediately. The individual will oversee the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of a range of goods and be responsible for a vital part of the supply chain process. Responsibilities will include managing people, processes and systems, in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately and productivity targets are met.
The Warehouse Manager will also be responsible for workplace health and safety standards and for the security of the building and stock.
Job requirements:
•Matric
•Diploma/Certificate pertaining to warehousing, supply chain management or similar advantageous
•Must be proficient in Pastel, MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook
•Must have minimum 2 -5 years’ experience in warehouse management or similar role
•At least 1-2 years’ experience managing /supervising staff
•Understanding and knowledge of retail, supply chain Management , transport, distribution and logistics management
•Strong personality, no nonsense kind of guy, not afraid to challenge and confront his staff
•Have an understanding of labour relations in the workplace
•Hard worker – definitely not a clock watcher!
•Ideally age 30 – 45
•Any race
Responsibilities:
•Staff Management (1 supervisor; 10 staff members – 3 outsourced security staff members)
•Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies
•Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods
•Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
•Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
•Respond to and deal with customer communication by email and telephone
•Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
•Plan future capacity requirements
•Monitoring staff performance and progress
•Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
•Produce regular reports and statistics (Excel spread sheets) for Senior management
•Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely
•Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
•Working hours typically include early starts, late finishes and possibly weekends
•Working hours are heavier closer to Christmas within the retail sector due to a peak in December.
•Understanding or knowledge of retail, supply chain Management , transport, distribution and logistics management
